For manufacturers using molecular sieve products, everyone is concerned about a common issue, "How to prolong the service life of molecular sieves?" In fact, there are two main factors that affect the life of molecular sieves, namely correct use and regular maintenance during use.


1. Correct use of molecular sieves

In the molecular sieve adsorption process, we should strictly operate according to the design value of the adsorption equipment, and strictly follow the key indicators such as the feed flow rate, temperature, pressure, switching time set by the system, and should not be changed at will. A reasonably designed and properly used molecular sieve adsorption device should be used for 24'000-40'000 hours, about 3 to 5 years.

For newly purchased molecular sieves, unless it is clearly stated that it has been activated and sealed for storage. Otherwise, high-temperature baking activation is still required, and the temperature is generally 500 degrees. Activation is carried out in a muffle furnace, and the furnace is filled with cylinder air or nitrogen, and then naturally cooled to about 100 degrees under ventilation conditions, and then taken out and transferred to a dryer for sealed storage.


2. Daily maintenance of molecular sieves during use

Select appropriate molecular sieves, reduce water content in the air, prevent lubricating oil pollution, correctly heat and regenerate, remove powder in time, etc.

In addition, in the molecular sieve regeneration process, it is not appropriate to use room temperature air to regenerate the molecular sieve bed for the product dry gas treated by the molecular sieve or the low dew point gas in other processes. Note that it is often counterproductive during the cold blowing stage.

The heating in the regeneration process should be carried out slowly in sections, and it cannot be directly heated to 200-300 degrees. The bed of the regenerated molecular sieve is directly backblown, and the regenerated gas should stay at about 150 degrees when heated. The time of heating regeneration is also an important point that needs to be grasped.
